Welcome to the Rabat-Salé Tramway

The Rabat-Salé Tramway opened on 23 May 2011, among the first modern tramways in Morocco. Today it is a network of two lines and 43 stations covering about 27 km, carrying more than 160,000 passengers a day according to the operator. It links Rabat and Salé by crossing the Bouregreg over the Pont Hassan II, and serves the Rabat medina, the Hassan Tower, Agdal, Souissi and many neighbourhoods of Salé.

Saturday: every 15, 13, 10 then 20 min depending on the time. Sundays and holidays: every 20 min, then every 13 min (Line 1) or 15 min (Line 2) from 14:00 to 20:00.

Frequently asked questions

Every day, with departures from the termini between 06:00 and 22:00 according to the operator: the first trams leave from 05:45 (Hay Karima) and the last ones reach the termini around 23:15. Exact times vary by line, station and day — see the timetable page.
The tramway charges a flat fare of 7 DH per trip, whatever the distance. The ticket stays valid for 1 hour and allows one transfer between Line 1 and Line 2. Pay with a ticket bought from the platform kiosks and machines, or with a digital ticket in the Tram Mobile app. Regular riders can buy an Irtiyah pass (from 270 DH a month, 160 DH for students).
Two: Line 1 (red) Hay Karima ↔ Madinat Al Irfane, and Line 2 (blue) Yacoub Al Mansour ↔ Moulay Abdellah Hospital. The two lines share a central section of four stations.
Line 1 and Line 2 share a central section of four stations either side of the Pont Hassan II: Bab Lamrissa, Pont Hassan II, Place du 16 Novembre and Tour Hassan, where you change lines on the same platform. At Place Al Joulane each line has its own stop (Place Al Joulane L1 and L2), about 100 m apart: the transfer there is on foot.
