How fares work on the Rabat-Salé Tramway
The Rabat-Salé Tramway charges a flat fare of 7 DH per trip, whatever the distance travelled. The ticket stays valid for 1 hour and allows one transfer between Line 1 and Line 2.
Tickets are sold at the platform kiosks and ticket machines, at authorised resellers or, as a 7 DH digital ticket, in the Tram Mobile app (available since 2021). Regular riders can buy a personal Irtiyah pass: 270 DH a month at the standard rate, 160 DH for students under 26. You must validate every time you board, including on a transfer.

The Irtiyah pass
Irtiyah is the Rabat-Salé Tramway pass: it gives unlimited travel on the whole network for its period of validity (month, quarter, half-year or year). It is not a stored-value card debited on each trip.
The pass is loaded on a personal magnetic card that cannot be transferred, or in the Tram Mobile app. You need your national ID card and a photo; the Talib version (students under 26) also requires a certificate of enrolment. Prices: 270 DH a month at the standard rate, 160 DH a month for Talib.
The card must be validated every time you board, including on a transfer. Monthly passes can be reloaded at the station ticket machines; the other options at a sales office or in Tram Mobile.

Irtiyah pass prices

How to get an Irtiyah pass
Choose your pass
Irtiyah Tout Public (270 DH/month) or Irtiyah Talib for students under 26 (160 DH/month), as a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly pass.
Prepare your documents
A copy of your national ID card (both sides) and a recent ID photo; for Irtiyah Talib, a certificate of enrolment for the current year and a form stamped by your school.
Sign up
At one of the three sales offices (Rabat-Hassan, Salé-Ville ONCF station, Hay Moulay Ismail) or directly in the Tram Mobile app (ID scan and profile photo).
Validate every time you board
The card (or the Tram Mobile QR code) must be validated every time you board, including on a transfer. The period runs from the day you sign up.
How to recharge
To renew your Irtiyah pass:
- Ticket machines on the platforms — for monthly passes: place the card on the reader, choose the “monthly” contract and pay with banknotes.
- Sales offices (Rabat-Hassan, Salé-Ville ONCF station, Hay Moulay Ismail) — for every period, with your pass card (and your certificate of enrolment for Irtiyah Talib).
- Tram Mobile app — passes and the digital ticket can be bought directly, paying by bank card.
Single tickets and passes
For an occasional trip, the single ticket is the simplest option — buy it from the machine and validate it as you board. It costs 7 DH, stays valid for 1 hour and allows one transfer between the two lines.
For regular trips, the Irtiyah passes (270 DH a month at the standard rate, 160 DH for students under 26, plus the Pass Jeunes for 16-30-year-olds) are far better value per trip than the single ticket. Combined Trambus tickets (tram + bus line 30, 10 DH) and P+R tickets (return trip + park & ride at Hay Karima or Madinat Al Irfane, 14 DH) are also available.
