Madinat Al Irfane is the southern terminus of Line 1, in the heart of Rabat's major university hub. The station serves the campus of Mohammed V University in Souissi, several leading colleges and, towards Ibn Rochd, CHU Ibn Sina facilities such as the Hôpital des Spécialités and the Children's Hospital.
A district of study, research and healthcare, Madinat Al Irfane brings together students, lecturers and hospital staff. From this terminus, Line 1 runs north to Hay Karima, in Salé. On the line, the adjacent station is Cité Universitaire Souissi.
